I wish I'd taken a bit more interest in history at school. I really love the subject now and at school I enjoyed it but I never put my all into it. There is, however, nothing stopping me now but I could have probably looked at becoming an historian or something along those lines.

Also English. It's such a fantastic and at time complicated language but mastering it would be amazing. I'd be able to get my thoughts and points across so much better.

Wood and metal shop. I find myself tinkering more in and around the house, and in the process picking up the occasional saw and wrench set, performing minor fixes to the lawnmower, and things like that.

Sadly, I went to school at a time when memorization was still the prime focus. "Learning" mean being able to rattle off names, places, dates, numbers, without any real depth of comprehension. The courses that interested me, like history and science, I had to pick up later, on my own.

I wish I had paid more attention in history, as well. JB, I'm not referring to your classes ( as I was not there), but as I get older I wish I had more names, dates, etc. at immediate recall. I view them now as a framework that I can fill in with deeper, more interesting info. Kind of like memorizing multiplication tables allows you to do higher level math faster. I know kids now who are not learning ANYTHING in history because without that framework, there's no context for the social theory stuff they are learning to be understood.

I was offered free clarinet lessons at school -- and turned them down. Regret that one sometimes.

Pretty much everything apart from English which was the only subject I cared about at the time. I wasted my school years.

Spanish. I'd love to be fluent. Though I'm not sure how much taking the class helped. I couldn't pick it up. I actually failed all the semester exams (passing was not required for credit, and it didn't pull my average below a B or C.)

Science. I remember actively searching for the word for the study of insects back in fifth or sixth grade. I was so interested in that tiny world. I just never took it to that next level.

Ahh regrets.

I would go back and convince myself to take Calculus my
senior year of high school. I took the easy route and
skipped math. Made it tougher for me in college after
having a year off.

I am with you Steven. I wish that I had taken Spanish
and become fluent like my best friend. Instead I spent
three years on German, not realizing that the shift in
demographics would make Spanish so much more useful in
the U.S.

I wish my dad would've let me take percussion in band instead of making me do saxophone. I couldn't play a single note on sax today, but I still play drums. I could've been an even more badass drummer now.

I wish I had taken computer science more seriously. It was my first choice of major in college but I soon dropped it for art and then to graphic design.

Now earth sciences and earliest history of man are very interesting. I really want to know more of what happened 12,000 years ago.
