Got to see THE DISASTER ARTIST today. I enjoyed it. It does make me a bit sad for Tommy, even with his attitude during the filming of THE ROOM. In the end, though, he has achieved success and a film that has an audience.
The bit after the credits was fun, too.

Btw, Philip Haldiman who played "Denny" in THE ROOM has his own comic based on his life and experiences called MY BIG BREAK. Here is a trailer for the comic:

Rick Harper, director of the documentary "Room Full of Spoons" is interviewed about his court battles with Tommy Wiseau, and asked his opinion on "The Disaster Artist."

It's crazy to think that Tommy and Greg made it to the big time, after all. :-) I wonder if they'll get to go to the Oscars?

I'd pay good money to see Tommy present an Oscar, and/or appear in a sketch.
"And Best Picture go to...THE ROOM! Ha-ha. Just kidding, folks. It go to THE DISASTER ARTIST, which mean it really go to THE ROOM. I so happy to give James my life rights. He make good movie that 99% true, and we make a lot of money. Ha-ha. Anyway, how is your sex life?"

Mike, Kevin, and Bill must feel like proud papas...I know that THE ROOM was known in some circles, but I've seen so many posts from people that didn't learn of it until the Rifftrax came out (such as myself). Their live Tribeca Film Festival riff of it was absolutely packed.

As I understand it, it was the article in a 2010 issue of ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY that gave the first big push of national exposure for THE ROOM. In my case, thar is where my friend and I first heard of it. Shortly after that we did listen to the Rifftrax commentary, though.

Sounds about right. I believe they originally didn't want to do it since it features adult language and nudity which they tend to avoid (if they were able to do it as a VOD, they likely would have stripped out the sex scenes, but coudn't since they were only able to make it an MP3 at the time), but since it was picking up steam, they felt they pretty much had to do it.
(And really, the sex scenes are just as mockable as the rest of the movie, anyway - "Hip Dick"!)

It's a shame about how James Franco's alleged off-screen life had caused the film to be snubbed by the Oscars.
