Every time I give Marvel another chance, I get burned.

••

Doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result each time is a sign of MADNESS, Wallace!!

At one point, a couple of years ago,
Marvel's best reviewed books were Waid's
Daredevil and Fraction's Hawkeye. Both
sold very well for them and they picked up
awards.

You would think that Marvel would have
thought, "More of this, less of everything
else." It's almost as if they don't know
how to function as a publisher if they're
not doing a crossover.

The worst thought I had today was, "That sounds interesting! I think I'll get the trade of the first six issues and see if it's worth pursuing."

I like Mark Waid, so I'm willing to give this book a try...

...but OH MY GOD, WHAT DID I JUST SAY?!?!?

Rather than give them another try, I'm afraid I should just stay mired in my collection, going back through the 40s, and stay away from the toxic new stuff. :(

I'm with Joe. Unless there's a regime change, I see no point in dipping my toe in that water again. Even if Waid does a bangup job, he's just one step away from being Heroes Reborned again by the higher-ups, or at the very least dragged into another one of their company-wide quarterly events.

Turning Sam Wilson into a version of Captain America never made a lick of sense to me.

First off, Marvel had already done "Bucky-Winter-Soldier-Cap," so it's not like there was any novelty in the idea of someone else becoming Cap (see also Mark Gruenwald's story from 30 years ago with the guy who became USAgent). Second, I can't imagine Sam wanting the title. Third, that costume was "Captain Amerifalcon" and was one of the worst things I'd ever seen in my life.

Finally, the Falcon is famous now because of the Captain America movies. So just do a goddam Falcon series! (Yes I know one is coming, now...could've started years earlier...)

If you had read the series you're commenting upon, you'd know that he
certainly didn't want the title.
JMO on the costume, but, I thought it was extremely patriotic and
strikingly dynamic seeing how the American Eagle is our National Bird
Symbol.
