JB:I've sworn at coke zero for years. No diet coke mean no business from me. Coke zero tastes too much like real coke with aspartame to me. It's better than Diet Pepsi but not by much. ======= I've had the honor and pleasure of talking to Neal Adams on several occasions. He is a Diet Coke-aholic. His wife says he goes through a case of cans in a day. This may or may not be an exaggeration. But, everytime he comes to town for a convention, I always stop by his table with an unopened, cold, 1 liter ottle of the stuff. It never ceases to get a chuckle out of him and a sincere thank you.

I think Tab lasted about a year in the UK. Or less. Us Brits have an excellent palate. ;-)

Isn't Tab the only soda left that's still using Saccharin?

IMO, Coke Zero is the closest to how Coke tasted prior to the idiotic change to "New Coke". The Coke that they produce now is nothing at all like how it used to be.

I gave up soda (or "pop" as I grew up calling it) several years ago. Artificial sweeteners were the ultimate line upon which I could not cross. Aspartame is especially nasty. That said? When I did drink the stuff, Coke Zero was my favorite. It tasted the closest to regular Coke. Diet Coke is like antifreeze to me. Nasty.

Kevin, did you know that after New Coke failed, they went back to the pre- New Coke recipe?

Coke Zero is sweetened with Aspartame and acesulfame potassium. Lately, I try to avoid aspartame.
What sweetener is this new fangled Coca-Cola Zero Sugar using?

Actually, they did not go back to it. It was a slightly different recipe.
When New Coke was announced, a friend of mine quite literally bought out a store's entire original Coke (glass bottles, not cans) supply. We compared the two when "original Coke" was brought back and it was definitely different. The Coke they brought back was a little more syrupy in taste.
He was passed away a few years ago and we discovered he still had about 5 cases left in his basement. Of course we all had to open a bottle and try it. It held up fairly well over the years.

Kevin, the switch from New Coke to Coca- Cola Classic was also when, at least our bottler, switched from sugar to high fructose corn syrup.
