Only ever SCOOBY-DOO for me nowadays. Good fun, standalone tales, a relief from work, etc. All good!

I actually paid some attention on the LCS Marvel shelf yesterday:

- I can't get an Iron Man book with Tony Stark in it.

- I can't get a Hulk book with Bruce Banner in it.

- I can get a Captain America book, but Steve Rogers is a Nazi.

- I can get a Spider-Man book, but Peter Parker is a tech billionaire. Looks like Peter's choice in One More Day paid off big-time.

- I can get a Thor book with Jane Foster as Thor. Because the exes take everything, don't they?

- I can get a Wolverine book, and like Thor, he is a she. And there's this other book called Logan, and he's a senior citizen. I am so confused.

- I can't get a Fantastic Four book, period. Because the deadwood must be cleared for great new books like ...

- Squirrel Girl! Captain Marvel! Rocket Racoon! The Inhumans! There are quite a few different Inhuman books, actually. The kids must have finally gotten tired of those stupid X-Men.

Joe, just pick up SCOOBY-DOO. You'll recognize the characters. There'll most likely be a standalone tale. Do it. ;-)

Okay .. but if Scooby-Doo turns out to be a gay poodle, it's all your fault.

LOL

I came to the title late. Didn't know it existed until I saw a TPB. Now I just love it. SCOOBY-DOO TEAM-UP, too.

It's a nice "antidote" to grim and gritty. And I can pick up random issues, I don't recall when there was last a two parter. Even some "two-parters" in SCOOBY-DOO TEAM-UP are tenuous, i.e. they teamed with the Flintstones in one issue - and then the Jetsons in the next. There is (sort of) a link between the two tales, but each can be enjoyed on their own merits.

It's a dip in/dip out title. And that's a great thing in today's "Age of Decompression". If I see something of interest on the cover, such as a scarecrow (we all love scarecrows, right?) or, in the case of SCOOBY-DOO TEAM-UP, an encounter between the Scooby Gang and the Jetsons, well I can pick the title up only when I wish to. I do pick up a lot of them, though.

It's just nice to have that option, Joe. I didn't pick up the Johnny Quest issue of SCOOBY-DOO TEAM-UP as the character does not interest me. Space Ghost doesn't interest me, either, so I didn't pick that one up. But because the Scooby titles aren't reliant on 6-issue arcs, multi-issue crossover events and so much else, it makes them very accessible.

I did buy some newish comics recently ! The three parter Deadman Dark Mansion of Forbidden Love, purely because of the art as I'm not familiar at all with Deadman and the Guardians of the Galaxy Mother Entropy 5 part story by Alan Davis, again, because of Alan Davis. I wish I could buy more new comics.
