I wish they had made Kevin Conroy's character the Bruce Wayne from Batman Beyond, at a time after he was forced to retire as Batman but well before Terry McGinnis. Maybe at the midway point in between.

Also, I didn't see the preview of part 4, except a few seconds that showed Oliver alive (in a suit or tux?), because my recording cut off. Am I wrong in thinking he might be Corrigan's replacement as the Spectre?

Brian, you are not wrong in that thought.

Indeed, not at all. In the comics, Hal Jordan was the Spectre for a while. On TV, Oliver Queen will be the Spectre. Green Arrow instead of Green Lantern.

I don't like it. But I don't care that much, I guess.

SPOILERS (and predictions) in Inviso-text (I hope this works):

Not to brag -- I did predict that the Earth-90 Flash would sacrifice himself, but the flashback to the 1990 FLASH series was an especially nice touch. My guess: by the end of this crossover, the multiverse will be reborn, but the Earths of BATWOMAN/ARROW/FLASH, SUPERGIRL, and BLACK LIGHTNING will have merged. Makes sense and is fine with me.

I know I'm a broken record on this subject but short Superman just irks me.  I mean, the "super" in Superman isn't supposed to be ironic.  I've heard many say they like Hoechlin as the character and I guess I can see why in terms of his facial appearance but he just isn't Superman in so many ways to me.

The irony is that Hoechlin is 6'0", or so Wikipedia says. That's not short. Part of why Routh looks better, to me, as Superman is that he's 6'2". And has the "barrel chest."

Yeah, I'd have to guess that that's a celebrity 6'0".  They routinely round up.

Well, they need to give Hoechlin boots that raise his height. And a shorter cape.

I think Robert Downey Jr. is only 5'6" but he never looked short in any of the MCU films. Should be easy to do the same with Hoechlin.

With the 6’4 Christopher Reeve being the exception, all the Superman actors have been between 6’0 and 6’2. If you’ve seen Hoechlin in other things, like TEEN WOLF, you would know he’s not “short”. I think the issue is more that all the CW male leads are tall, so he doesn’t stand out in comparison, like Superman should.

Dean Cain isn't "short" but he's a short Superman.  I think Hoechlin fits that category.  I don't think it's a coincidence that part of Reeve's continued standard as the MOS is that he was actually tall and did stand out.

Kirk Alyn at 6'1" in the 40's and George Reeves at 6'2" in the '50's was a little different.  That was relatively tall back then.  Cavill, Cain, Hoechlin...they are not "short" but they are not tall or "super".  Routh and Welling got closer at 6'3" but IMO, a modern day Superman needs to be like Reeve and more tall at 6'4".

That's why I liked Manganello over Cavill even though he didn't look as much like Superman in the face.  His size would have been a better trade off to me.

Edit:  There aren't too many pics of JM on Google where he's clean shaven with short hair.  At 6'5" and with the mass and tapered body type, even at 42, he could give us a few good Superman movies:

I could see him as Superman, provided he wear blue contacts or his eyes are made blue in post-production.

With the long hair and beard (and a dye job, since he's going gray), he'd make a good Lobo, too.

Joe Manganiello was my choice back when they were casting for MAN OF STEEL.
