DC can call a character Captain Marvel, but they can't advertise by that name or license the name for swim goggles.

Thanks, David.

How odd the legal semantics are at times!

Ain't that the tooth. "Audio and visual recordings featuring live-action entertainment" means movies. I think.

Good call, Hornberger!

I can't see Levi, tho. He's got the height, but not the Jethro Bodine face.

Was John Cena seriously considered for the role? I was told by someone he has, but saw no proof of any serious consideration.

This will be interesting, I think very few civilians have any idea who Captain
Marvel is. He's to me more of an all ages character than almost anyone else in
the DC Universe. If this was animated I would have no fear but live action will
be different. Wonder if they'll try to keep him separate from the rest of the DC
universe? I can't see anyway he could possibly exist in the Zach Snyder Justice
league world.

JB: I look forward to Ving Rhames as Sivana.

Ving Rhames as Sivana? Really? I hadn't heard that, and I wouldn't think of him.

I was thinking more Leslie Jones. :)

Well, casting hasn't been WB's strong suit with it's B-level DC heroes for some time now (see Flash, Aquaman).

Now we have to see how well they execute this film. My expectations are slim to none right now.
