But yeah, Marvel Studios will have an even brighter future with the X-Men and
FF in their control. Not even their "magic touch" can do much with characters
like Morbius the Living Vampire.

If marvel can have success with Groot then anything is possible. I could see
Morbius working well if Blade ever shows up in a Netflix series.

I like how auto-correct keeps wanting to change Morbius to Morris.

I wonder if Star Wars was a sticking point
in the deal. Fox currently owns all
distribution rights to Episode IV and will
forever unless they sell them. They also
have the home video and streaming rights
to Episode I-III,V & VI till 2020. These
are cash cows that do not cost Fox a lot
of money considering the return on
investment. You have to figure that ANY
chance of a Star Wars Theatrical Cut
release relies on this deal going through.
Also, we probably won't see a box set with
all of the saga films together without
this deal as well.

Rumour us Murdoch’s son might be in line to replace Bob Iger next year. I do not see that as a good thing.

Let me sell you my company but you will put me in charge of your company. Not good

It might work. He seems like a capable executive and
his political views are more in line with Disney.

According to company insiders, Bob Iger could stay on past the end of his contract in 2019 to at least help integrate Fox's assets into Disney.

Deal is confirmed for $52.4 bn. Now maybe we can get that Orvile/Guardians of the Galaxy crossover that no-one has been talking about.

Iger confirmed as staying until 2021.

Iger has added another immense company to his collection, after acquiring animation giant Pixar in 2006 for $7.4 billion, Marvel in 2008 for $4 billion, and Lucasfilm in 2012 for another $4 billion.

"At $52.4 billion, the purchase of the Fox film studio, started by William Fox in 1915, would dwarf all of them."

Welcome home, X-Men and Fantastic Four!

Even crazier to think that Disney isn't even in the top 10 of US companies in the Fortune 500!

They aren't even in the top 50 from the list I saw recently!
