I enjoy the discourse on the JBF quite a bit, but in the last year the steady stream of severe subjects can get overwhelming. In the current climate of idiots who abuse power for any number of reasons it is good to know that there are just some plain old idiots out there. They do it for the pure love of being stupid. Dog love em.

Flat Earth Convention

News Coverage of the Flat Earth Convention

This is definitely the "Inquirer" level of news that I appreciate because I'm not afraid the Earth is going to be destroyed as a result. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did this morning.

I, personally, would not be disappointed to wake up and be informed that the world is a tetrahedron.

I think it was Neil deGrasse Tyson who said to ask Flat Earthers if they think the rest of the planets in our solar system are flat too.  :)

Yeah, is the sun flat, too? Do these people that believe the Earth is flat also believe there are no other planets? Is Earth the true extent of the universe to them, and all those stars in the sky are closer than they appear? Or, is Earth like a game board floating in space to them? How does the sun and moon operate in that case?

These people are koo-koo.

Matt, you're making a mistake. David Icke believes the moon is, well...

I wish the world was flat because I could see a market for a sport such as "extreme surfing off the edge of the world". It could become more popular than football.

Sure it is. When I look at it in the sky it looks like a disk to me....

I still believe that, deep down, they know it is nonsense. Same as with religious people. They know it is ridiculous but it is either easier to go along with your friends or they just love being contrarian and getting into debates.

Yet if the world is proven to be flat, we'll all feel silly, right? ;-)
