In another topic, our friend Robbie P. spoke of a special circle of Hell for comic speculators. Obviously hyperbole, but it got me wondering...

Give me two things that you despise that should deserve being consigned to Heck after death. Recording movies on cell phones? Buying and immediately upselling concert tickets? Eating candy corn? What do people do that you absolutely loathe.

I have DOZENS, but here are two.

I hate people who are on their phones while driving. Talking or texting, it doesn't make any difference. I can't stand 'em.

I hate people who think they know more than I do about something I'm an expert in. Back around 2010, some friends were discussing comic books, and one new acquaintance made a huge error (about Thor, if I remember right.) When I tried to politely correct him, he said, "No, you're wrong. I've been reading comics for ten years; I'm SURE I know more than you do about comics." I know it wasn't patently obvious that I know a lot about comics; but what would make someone think that ten years experience makes them a super expert? Or that someone else wouldn't know more?

PUNCH LINE: I started citing some books and issue numbers, and I believe the giveaway was, "Marvel Team-Up? Was that a comic?"

Come, share with us your circles' inhabitants!

People who record videos in "portrait" orientation on a phone or tablet.

People who park their shopping cart on one side of the store aisle and then block the rest of the aisle looking at items on the other side.

People who ship packages using styrofoam peanuts should be required to endlessly sweep them up in a constant wind.

People who don’t flush the toilet. They should always have to use a full toilet.

I hate the expression "you have NO idea."  Like if I say "hey there, busy day today?"  And I get "You have NO idea."  Um, pretty sure I do... I am a normal person who sees and hears things, and my brain processes them.  I have SOME idea.  Grrrr.

Regarding tickets...there is a special circle for the
major companies like Ticketmaster who also own resale
off-shoot companies such as Viagogo, who somehow get the
majority of tickets as soon as they go on sale then sell
them on the off-shoot site for mega-Bucks.Arseholes who
don`t use their indicators when driving.Eric...only two?
I could go on!

My other one: people who post "huge near mint, rare, vintage comic collection" in our local online classifieds.  And it's literally 30 spine-rolled 1990s X-Force comics.  Come on man!

I lived in China for ten years.

1. Spitting in restaurants.
2. Smoking in elevators.

It is a shame we only have two examples. I could go on and on.

Bryan: People who don’t flush the toilet. They should always have to use a full toilet.

***

I had one travel partner on a Japan tour mistakenly think our hotel toilet automatically flushed itself. Yes, it could many things, except that...

1) People who put frozen or perishable foods in their shopping cart at a supermarket, and then deposit those items in various areas of the store before paying.

2) Drivers who run red lights. Seems to be happening more and more in my area, with the obvious uptick in vehicle and pedestrian accidents.

I hate how some comic shops in the UK use price tags on second hand comics that leave stains and are impossible to remove
