I don't think they know how comics work. Wouldn't this be called an "epilogue"?
This is the snake eating itself. The comics provided the stories for the movies and now the movies are being copied by the comics.

We used to call this "after the ads."

Someone told me that one comic had a "Director's Cut" version. Putting aside the cynicism of such a cash cow, I have to ask: since when did comics have directors? I thought they had editors!

I can't wait until they add mid-credits scenes.

Ferris Bueller was the earliest movie I can think of that did this. But I KNOW I'm wrong.

Kind of a neat idea. Reminds mea bit of how they used to preview new titles in other titles...a la New Teen Titans, All Star Squadron...

As noted, epilogues are nothing new. It’s just hilarious that they are calling them “post-credits scenes”, especially when there’s no standard over whether the credits appear at the beginning or the end of the story.

Those were 16-pages long, and stapled into the middle of the comic, making it possible to remove them...so, they really were 'mid-stream' interruptions. It was a good promotional move by DC, just kind of irritating formatting.

If they really want to be like movies, then I want a button on every comic that enables "scene selection".

I was thinking there was an earlier example, too, but that has to be one of the earliest examples. Long credits after a movie didn't really begin until the 1970s. For the first several decades of film, end credits seemed to give a cast list and maybe some tech credits at most. I can't think of any after credits scene during that lengthy period of film.

Most of the comics I read as a kid had a post credits sequence. It was called the story.
