Again, when I'm working with another writer, especially Chris, it is important to distinguish between what's in the pictures and what's in the words.

Love that.

JB's FF run (up until the Thing left) was my last series as a comicbook reader, and what a nice send off! Something both neat and indicative of JB's good sense as a writer, even more than three decades ago, is that he ended that universally important story with a great tease for the following one... "Next Issue: The Messiah" -- ha! Don't expect a letdown, fans! Love that too.

Snowbird vs. Kolomaq

A memorable issue indeed.

Lots I could mention, but from JB's SUPERMAN run:

Superman walks into the building where Bloodsport has committed a massacre, sees all the corpses, and his face...you can tell he's about to cry, but he doesn't.

Yes, I needed to keep that in mind.

That last page of West Coast Avengers #42 where the Vision's been disassembled. Poor Wanda!

The first page of Man of Steel # 1... I was blown away by that image of Krypton!

To tell the truth the whole issue is my favorite JB work.

  • That first full shot of Superman in full costume flying in MAN OF STEEL #1.
  • Doc Samson punching out Hulk in INCREDIBLE HULK # 214.
  • Galactus falling in FF #243.
I could go on. JB is responsible for some of my absolute favourite comic book moments.

UXM - Magneto in issue 112 having captured the X-Men - that last panel with the close up of his face as he explains their terrible fate.

Hulk - Samson knocking out the Hulk in issue 314

FF - Doom's armour fusing during his battle with Terrax in issue 260

AWC 43: The team finding the dissasembled Vision on the table

Cap taking out Baron Blood with his shield - CA 254

(first time poster after a long time luring - hello all :))
