On one of my comic book groups on FB many of the members are posting pics of finds at Ollie's of DC books that are priced way under the cover prices. I'm more of a Marvel fan (though Dc in the 80's was a good time and read), but I'm hoping to find collections of John's work! These are examples of what people are seeing in their stores.

Thanks for posting this. I'll have to go take a look at the store near me sometime. Supposed to be having bad weather the next few days, or I'd go tomorrow.

(Ollie's also sometimes carries comic book multipacks. Bagged sort of like the multipacks we used to see in stores as kids, but I believe it's 5 or more books rather than three. And sometimes they have older comics. I saw an issue of the 80's Superboy series in one once, but didn't have the money to buy the pack at the time.)

Dear God...I came here to get away from the unending 'Ollie's' plugfest that group has become.

"Bagged sort of like the multipacks we used to see in

**

Speaking of that, my sainted wife found me a 10-pack for
christmas this year. I was a little put off at first,
as the two visible were fairly modern vintage, but
inside there were some old-school goodies.

Finally found these at my Ollie's. Absolutely comical
(no pun intended) display. One giant cardboard box full
of books. I had to dig and lean in and I'm sure I only
saw 30% of what was there. I look forward to going back
in a few months to see what's on the bottom. Great
deals. I bought $400 worth of books retails price for
$60. Wowza!

Wow! The TPB's were laid out on large shelves, stacked in alphabetical order. Someone to pride in this display. Incredible prices 500 page DC Showcases at $3.99 ea.

I got a bunch of "The Greatest Stories Ever Told..." books, along with others.
And the coup de grace JB's World of Krypton for $2.99!

Thank you Sam!

Brian, Ollies apparently made some deal to buy out DC's trade paperback and graphic novel inventory back stock. You might see some Marvel stuff from time to time, but I doubt it will be like this recent deluge of DC books.

DC would not remainder their unsold books, they apparently hoarded them and decided to sell 19 truckloads to Ollie's rather than sell them off slowly or through Diamond so retailers could buy them and sell them less expensively. Marvel has been doing that for years. They had books at 90% off through Diamond and have sold off pallets of unsold books from booksellers. That's why at shows for several years now you can find multitudes of Marvel books for half cover or even $5, but not so much DC.
