Who would you like to see the JLA fight? It can be any JLA incarnation (1960, 1987, modern).

Pick one villainous Marvel opponent. No ties, no honourable mentions, no contrivances. Absolutely one only.

Obviously, a team can count as "one", e.g. the Frightful Four as they do come as a package; but if you were to say "I'd like to see the Frightful Four, working with Doctor Doom and supported by Kingpin, battling the JLA!", then that is "cheating". That'd be three choices.

One solo enemy or ONE solo unit, please. And if you pick a unit, in order to avoid "cheating", it must have been a real team, e.g. Frightful Four, U-Foes, etc.

Over to you. Please specify which incarnation of the JLA.

I would go with the 1987 JLA, so led by Batman and featuring the likes of Guy Gardner, Mister Miracle, Captain Marvel, Black Canary, etc. And I can think of no better opponent for them than Kang. If Kang could take out or cause problems for the likes of Gardner, Marvel and Martian Manhunter, I think the rest could be in trouble; great and resourceful the likes of Blue Beetle and Black Canary are, we are talking Kang, a heavy hitter.

The full '15-member' roster(late '70s/early '80s) can replace the Avengers in the Korvac Saga.

JLA
Superman
Batman
Wonder Woman
Flash
Green Lantern
Green Arrow

VS.

Squadron Supreme
Hyperion
Nighthawk
Power Princess
Whizzer
Dr. Spectrum
Golden Archer

Who is better? This decades old question is about to be answered!

BTW Kang is a great pick Robbie, especially if he has his Macrobots.

Great choices so far, guys.

As for Kang, I truly believe he could be the most formidable foe that that particular JLA incarnation would ever face.

The Molecule Man. (He was a villain once upon a time.) Versus the "Grant Morrison" JLA circa 1997 ('98?).

Thanos.

And on page 3, the JLA could start a new adventure, while laughing about how silly that pompous purple imitation was.

For me, Kang is the obvious choice (and a great one). He can face different JLA lineups in different eras, causing all kinds of alterations to history over the years, only to be set right by the end of tale (no one said this would only be 1 issue, right?).

The original Brave and the Bold #28 line-up is called in when a fisherman finds something massive floating in the ocean: a severely damaged and nonfunctioning giant robot (possibly one of the Red Skull's Sleepers) and they decide to investigate. Unfortunately, they trigger something that unleashes the floating robot's cargo, which was behind held in suspended animation: the original Super-Axis, from Invaders #40:

Lady Lotus, Master Man, Warrior Woman, U-Man and Baron Blood.

The first thing that came to mind was Attuma!

I just like the idea of pitting any powerful Lee/Kirby nemesis against classic DC heroes, as DC villains tended to be a little lightweight (or the ones that weren't have been terribly overused).  Of course, you'd have to leave out the too-powerful Superman and include Aquaman, so the team would have to be the Detroit team.
