I rarely buy such magazines now. I very occasionally buy BACK ISSUE (the latest issue has features on KISS in comics, plus an interview with Sam J. Jones, so that was a deal-breaker).

I remember a 90s issue of COMIC WORLD featuring a writer who complained about Marvel Comics' crossovers (his words were something like, "Fans do not possess bottomless wallets.").

I knew I'd "made it" when I started being interviewed by the old fanzines. And, even more of a sign, when they started misquoting me!

So many things I used to have, but few bother me except I wish I'd kept that Comics Journal with the long interview and X-Men cover. Stuff like that seems hardest to come across again (at least at a price you'd want to pay).

I look up all sorts of classic magazines via eBay (wrestling, sci-fi, comics), but they are being sold at astronomical prices.

But, occasionally, I'll be at a jumble sale, or visiting a bookstore, and will come across a bundle of magazines for a good price.

Keep looking, Rebecca!

Some time ago I decided to hunt for the issues in my first "comic collection," about a dozen comics I got at a local drugstore in the mid to late 70s. It has been fun hunting for familiar covers in comic shop back issue boxes. But as I have come closer to getting them all, I have given to Googling 'images,' 'covers' and the name of the comic to learn the number for some issues. It has been a kick seeing the old comics covers.

Good. :)

I suspect it's called many things in various English-speaking countries.

As someone who likes reading old comics - letters pages!!!! - I do like attending jumble sales. You come across some real gems at times.

A few years ago, there was a complete run (45+ issues) of the British SUPERMAN MONTHLY, which ran from 1988-1993. Originally a fortnightly title, which reprinted our host's MOS and subsequent tales, it eventually became a 48-page monthly which (initially) reprinted our host's Superman, Green Lantern and Justice League International.

I live in hope of coming across a complete run of PLANET OF THE APES one day!

Corner carryouts and grocery stores for years before I discovered my first comic book store.
