How did we jump from cards to stickers?

 QUOTE:
I see someone has multiple copies of the uncut sheet right now for $8.95 u.s.

I noticed that earlier and am tempted to get it since it is so cheap.  One thing that stands out from this card set is...WHY The Beetle??  Seems like an odd choice for a character, wouldn't Iron Fist have been a better choice?  I wonder if John Byrne selected the characters for the cards or Marvel?

In answer to J.B., because some sets had both, and I
thought the Marvel set would be of interest.
As an aside, I never saw the attraction of uncut sheets.

I Had the Star Wars cards from all three original movies but they've been gone from my possession for decades.

I just bought the 1989 Byrne uncut card sheet from eBay, with shipping cost it was $16.10.  It looks nice, can't wait to get it.  The seller has 5 more available.

I suppose you could frame the larger image on the back? That FF image or the X-Men/Alpha image (above) might look sharp in a frame

Heck, either side would look good framed to me. The card side has a neat kind of look to it, uncut or not.

Out of curiosity, I checked eBay just now to see about that uncut sheet and the only result I found so far is marked up to $119.95. If this is the same guy who sold Jeff his cards, I wonder if that seller knows it is being discussed here and jacked up his price?

Edited to note: Nope... I omitted the word "uncut" from my search and saw the other seller. What a wide margin of difference, there: $8.95 to $119.95! I think I know which is the better deal! Heh.

As a matter of fact I bought an uncut card sheet from this fellow just a couple months back. Excellent transaction, couldn't have gone better. I've got it in a Walmart frame and it's great looking.

Still don't have the individual cards, much less the box they came in, like Nathan!

I do remember having some of the original blue star-field Star Wars cards, and then a few red border ones too. I actually cut a few of them up for some art type project, sorry. :^( I also cut up some Mork & Mindy and Charlie's Angels and I can't remember ever buying those. I should have been buying the Gong Show cards, but I only found out about those ever existing through seeing them on eBay.

Do people that collect the ones that have some stickers collect the stickers too or just the cards? I think there are people who collect the Wacky Packages things but no idea how you could tell if you had them all, or is the would stick them on a blank card to 'keep' them. I do know that the pink bubblegum stick that came with those old waxed-paper wrapped card packs was an acquired taste. I kind of liked it myself, they had some sort of powder on them and were really stiff and brittle.

Thanks, Lars. I was wondering if the uncut sheet was a
fake or of lesser quality. Pretty cool to have.
