His version of the Joker was terrible. Why they would want to make a movie based on it is beyond me. If Suicide Squad had been a big hit, then at least they could argue that his version was popular enough to warrant it, but as it stands, I don't see any call for this one.

Warner Bros. management still doesn’t get it.

I didn't like Suicide Squad and I thought Leto's Joker was terrible, but the film was a hit at the box office. It was in the top 10 hits for 2016 and wasn't far behind Deadpool, which is usually considered to be a big hit.

I think a movie based on Leto's Joker is likely to stink, but Warner Bros aren't totally crazy to think they can spin a profit from it.

I'm not sure any villain can carry a movie. I prefer them as antagonists.

I know comics are different, but the Joker, surely one of the most popular villains ever, couldn't really sustain a comic (70s). Probably lasted fewer than 20 issues. At the time, I thought, 'Of all the villains I thought could carry a comic for a long time, it'd be the Joker.'

So I'm not convinced. Nor am I convinced by Sony rumours of solo movies for Mysterio and Kraven.

Isn't Mysterio being touted as the villain for the follow-up to Spider-Man: Homecoming?

I agree with Robbie, i don`t want to see a Venom, Doctor
Doom, Joker or any other super-villain movie, i want
them as antagonists in the movies of Spider-man, FF,
Batman etc.

DC gave the Joker his own comic* in the Seventies, and were immediately presented with a problem: he basically had to lose to the good guys all the time.

________

* Ironic, given how much effort Denny and Neal had to put into being allowed to bring him back.

One of whom was an actor who got a bump on the head from his own prop pipe and thought he was Sherlock Holmes!

No devil's advocate here. I did not like Leto's Joker at all. I do not like the villains starring in their own movies. Why do villains always have to be redeemable? I'm so sick of that cliche. It totally wrecks their threat level.

For once, I'll say right-off-the-bat, I'll pass on this one.

This is a BIG NO for me.

Leto's Joker was like nails on a chalk board for me in his short screen time
on Suicide Squad. I cannot imagine trying to sit thru 2 hours of him....shiver.

Wow they are making Suicide Squad a franchise in its own right. Which should have been the Justice League, but I guess a movie about a bunch of psychos is their best bet at this point.
