So, after reading this amazing issue and being transported back to 1980, I went back and re-read your entire run (108 - 138, plus the Iron Fist Sabretooth and X-men issues) and then the Savage Land stuff from Hidden Years.  It's almost eerie how seamless the rendering of these characters are!  And NO ONE draws a better Cyclops and Jean Grey!  Looking at Hidden Years, would Cyclops' "new" visor been the same as the perfect "Neal Adams" look you gave him in Hidden Years?  And would you have ever explored more of his origin?  (in this alternate reality, the last time you touched it was ALSO in the Savage Land in issue 114)

My goodness, but I'm loving all this X-Men art!

It's too early to be paging Glynis Oliver (Wein) in other words?

I liked the "what's adamantium?" part too... mentioned it someplace how it'd be too bad to lose that... but if it could still happen... :^)

Just realised, this would be Wolverine before he became Marvel’s go-to guest star, before he gained all that baggage, before he became .... James Howlet.

Oh be still my beating heart!

One of the things -- and there are many! -- that might be difficult for entrenched Marvel fans to deal with here is the increasing divergence from the established timeline -- even tho that timeline itself has been twisted inside out more than anyone can count.

Wolverine would be a particular problem, since he's traveled --or been taken -- so far from the character he was at this vintage.

Adamantium was still rare and difficult to create;
Cyclops is a worthy team leader;
Wolverine is not in 20 other books;
The list goes on!

Do you really think citing Wolverine means I'd ignore everybody else?

A little more contoured, as a nod to Dave, but definitely minus the ear cups.

The now deleted Wolverine spanking scene had me thinking about how it plays upon the idea that Wolverine is possibly a lot older than he seems and may have different values than the other younger X-Men. A man out of place, as opposed to a man out of time.

Yes. Now if only the internet wasn't full of dirty minds.
