I hope you get it sorted, Mr Byrne. Not that you're asking for a diagnosis ("I'm a taxi driver, not a doctor!"), but it looks like it at least needs a medical professional to take a look.

Seriously, take care of that eye, sir.
Even if you have the extra one right beside it, they work better in pairs!

It looks like a blood vessel burst, a minor hemorrhage, which isn't serious. Let's hope so.

The ER guy said it was most likely brought on by a heavy sneeze!

I know someone who had a similar bloodshot eye and
bruising surrounding the eye, it was a burst blood
vessel, she was told it can be caused by stifling a
sneeze or straining on the toilet. She was of an age
where she was on blood thinning meds.

My aunt woke up a few years ago with something that looked exactly like this for what that's worth, very dramatic and she panicked naturally. It was a surface blood vessel, and they checked everything thoroughly. She was back to looking and functioning normally before too long. But of course I'm no eye expert and for an artist the eye is the most squeamish part to have anything happen to.

I had 2 eyes like that after some heavy praying to the porcelain god time, many years ago. So yeah...heavy sneezing sounds like it could trigger it.
