G.I. Joe A Real American Hero #253
Hawkman #2
Sideways #6
Superman #1

Small week but I have a few Tales of Suspense in my box that I'm currently paying off so I should be able to take one home today.

*Following up with what Adam posted last week about Captain America #1...I enjoyed it and I didn't expect to because I found Coates' Black Panther to be pretty boring. I still don't like Sharon being aged and just feel like we're going to get some sort of swerve with her character.

I noticed a couple of you picked up Superman #1 - how is the new Superman looking?

I like the art. Superman looks a little like JB's Superman, I think.
And I would not have thought that Bendis' style could fit in with Superman, but it does, IMO. So far so good.

P.S.: For a moment, I thought he was going to dispose of the Fortress of Solitude. It would have been a good thing.

Bendis' Superman is much better than I expected. He still likes to provide a little too much dialogue for my tastes but it doesn't seem too "cutesy" yet.

I'm not impressed by Bendis on SUPERMAN.

He loses all contact with Lois and Jon but doesn't think to contact the Green Lanterns, or Dr. Fate, or anyone who might be able to help him traverse dimensions.

He writes Jon Kent totally out of character. Check how bratty he is in SUPERMAN #1 with how he was written in SUPER-SONS.

J'onn J'onzz essentially tells Superman "you know, you really ought to take over the world." Superman says no, of course, but still! I hope that wasn't really J'onn.

I still don't like Bendis' writing. This isn't a real improvement over his Marvel work. I hope his run on SUPERMAN and ACTION COMICS is short.

And I'm still REALLY ANNOYED that he got his own "#1." What a pointless stunt.

Amazing Spider-Man #1 - I picked this up because as much as I didn't enjoy Nick Spencer on Captain America, I loved his Superior Foes of Spider-Man comic. I enjoyed it quite a bit.

Superman #1 - Gave Bendis a chance despite not liking what I've heard/read of his Man of Steel mini. I didn't really like it. For me, Bendis only really works on his creator owned stuff like Alias and Powers. The art was nice at least.

Die Die Die #1 - I like Chris Burnham so I enjoyed this surprise book by Robert Kirkman. I like how this was released without ever being announced in Diamond Previews. Although it seems like Kirkman is channeling Mark Millar.

Wildstorm: Michael Cray #9 - This is actually a better comic than the main Wildstorm title, although the art isn't as good. It's basically an elseworlds comic (of both the Wildstorm and DC universes).

Somehow didn't see League of Extraordinary Gentlemen: Tempest #1, but I called the shop and had a copy put in my pull box today. Didn't even know it was coming out. I was curious why it was released by IDW instead of Top Shelf, so I went to Google and discovered IDW bought Top Shelf. Not sure how I missed that news when it happened.

Star Wars: Darth Vader #18
Superman #1 - Going to read the first issue, Man of Steel wasn't bad and I don't usually like Bendis' writing...
