Parker didn't stay rich for long. His life is as big a mess as ever as of the new AMAZING SPIDER-MAN series written by Nick Spencer, which is really fun so far. (I still can't believe Spencer is writing something I'm really enjoying considering what a wreck SECRET EMPIRE was. Clearly he should write certain characters and not others.)

How cool would it be if someone hired Mr. Byrne to do a multi-commission piece to flesh out what he wanted to do with the Hulk after issue #319 vol.1?

Incredible Hulk: Elsewhen. Now your brain will not be able to not think about it? •• Much as I've loved the Hulk since I first saw issue 1, he and I just don't seem to get along. Even as a kid, building clay statues of the character, I could not keep him from falling over, or breaking. My attempts to write and/or draw the character had seemed to fun off the rails every time. So, no. And besides. all these frustrating ideas I am accumulating for future ELSEWHEN stories are not leaving me much room for anything else!

I'm OK with that!
I often wondered if the stories that took place after your departure (by Al Milgrom) where your plans for the story anyway?

I enjoyed your work on the Hulk back in '86, JB, and wish it had gone on longer but you, as the creator, know when it's just not happening.
The only story idea I recall JB tossing out was an appearance from the Metal Master, pitting Hulk against his own adamantium statue. I don't think that that story was ever done after he left the title.

There's many more ideas JB mentioned in old interviews... introducing a new Hulk -- and getting rid of the old Hulk... introducing the first foe of the new Hulk, an automated tank named, "The General"... the "Legion of Abominations" storyline... interest in bringing back the Ringmaster... A possible Hulk/Fantastic Four crossover...

Nathan -- yep. And the introduction of a "Jack McGee" type character who'd be trying to prove that Bruce Banner was still the Hulk -- just not the "Puny humans! Hulk smash!!" Hulk.
The current HULK writer has created a character named...Jackie McGee. (No joke.) As the general public believes Banner is dead, and yet there have been Hulk sightings (the real Hulk, not Amadeus Cho), she's determined to find out if Banner is in fact not dead, and...well, I won't spoil the most recent issues.

----- I forget the details from that interview, but would that FF line-up have the She-Hulk or the Thing?
