nobody in the real world says "blast it!" -------------------------- I've known plenty of people that say this. Or maybe it's just my mum. Either way, definitely heard it plenty of times.
I have absolutely no need for characters to swear for it to seem real. I have often found that films that are dubbed to remove swear words have more inventive language. One that springs to mind is Dennis Farina in Midnight Run where 'I'm gonna stab you through the heart with a fuckin pencil' was dubbed to 'I'm gonna stab you through the heart with a broken pencil.' I prefer the latter version! It's so much more descriptive.
You get what I'm saying, you muddy funsters?

I wonder if they still make this one... it was 'Cashmere Bouquet'. I'd probably know it by smell instantly, and by taste I'm sure. :^<

I had the soap treatment for the use of `Bloody`! Then i got a telling off for saying `Cobblers` until my mom realised i was reading it from a pair of `comedy` underpants in a store! (Cobblers is rhyming slang Cobbler`s Awls=Balls) Strangely, `Berk` was perfectly acceptable to describe an idiot, even on tv, it stands for Berkshire Hunt, i`ll let you work that one out.
Grawlix were used on a weekly basis in the likes of The Beano, Dandy etc, i knew it signified swearing, but my naivety only let me imagine mild curse words.

My friends call each other 'cheat suckers' all the time after watching the unfortunate TV-edited version of "Glengarry Glen Ross" some years back.

Inappropriate use. Don't see Kang as a kusser.

Remebering when Frank used cuss words with black bars over them -- which DC made too light, so the words read thru. (Frank had insisted on using the actual cussing so they'd be the right length. I guess using "aunt" or "fork" was not an option.)

I first noticed lots of Grawlix in Punisher comics in the 80's. Which made sense. Frank as a marine and all around hard-ass would use a lot of profanity.
My bigger concern is with what's allowed to pass through uncensored and from totally inappropriate characters. For example, one of the Jason Aaron runs on Thor had what was, conceptually, a pretty cool Galactus/Silver Surfer/Thor crossover. But in the actual execution, for some reason, Aaron felt the need to have Thor refer to him as 'you silver bastard' at least once in every issue of a six issue storyline. Which pretty much killed the story, and stopped me reading that run of Thor.

Characters in the SPACE TEAM novels are unable to curse because of implanted translation chips, so some of the language is pretty funny. I think that some of the alternatives to profanity used in I HATE FAIRYLAND are sorta nifty.

I don't mind if random symbols are used but think some get a little cutesy with @$$, or $#!+.

It was great fun when anyone would swear in Firefly.
