Let me open with saying I recognize a difference between people who have a legitimate telemarketing job and those that are scammers. Now, when I have a legitimate telemarketer, I do go out of my way to be courteous. It isn't a great job, but for some, it may be the only job they can get and often they are treated like crap and paid very little.
That said, scammers are horrible individuals who know they are going out of their way to commit a crime. They deserve awful things to come to them. But, I think they are going to a level that will get them noticed and hopefully there will be a way to take action. We have a local one just reported that is spoofing itself as 911. Last night, I had a call come in that my ID read as a Wells Fargo number (it was for a health related issue upon hearing the message). By utilizing such numbers as part of the scam, I do hope there will be straws breaking backs and a call to action.
