Wow:

The club is Spanish and are called Zamora CF.

I *love* that kit. It looks futuristic.

Thanks to the newsletter "When Saturday Comes" for the image.

Bah. That's not real kit. Should be covered in advertisements.

As a Hockey fan, I find it interesting the different traditions when it comes to jerseys. In hockey, many teams have jerseys pretty much unchanged for decades and the idea of plastering JEEP or Emirates across the front of a team uniform instead of a team crest would be completely reviled yet in football, everyone is ok with it. Those jerseys above are very cool but would never fly in Hockey or Baseball.

I grew up with advertising on shirts and, accordingly as young folk do, adjusted to that concept of 'normal'. I have grown to think football clubs should have more pride than to sell the precious real estate on their shirts for cash. Even Barcelona, who famously previously subscribed to the notion of such commercialism being sacrilege, have given in to the power of the coin.

For the record, this is (at least one of) the greatest football shirt(s) of all time:

••

If I saw that "kit" on a Broadway chorus line, I might have other thoughts…
