Eric Sofer, I'll second that. I cannot recommend "Crossfire" enough.

Daredevil moved out west in Mark Waid's run. I quite liked how the locale was used for the series.

West Coast Avengers remains my absolute favorite L.A. comic. Whackos!

The original Dave Stevens Rocketeer comics were set in 1930s Hollywood/L.A. You might also want an edition of that Donald Duck In Old California comic too, a real classic! :^)

Yeah, can't believe I forgot to include THE ROCKETEER!  One of the best examples!

The Outsiders moved to California following their break-up with the Batman, operating out of Los Angeles under the financial umbrella of Markovia, Geo-Force's home country. Their West Coast adventures began in the Baxter paper Outsiders #1, later reprinted in the newsprint "Adventures of the Outsiders" #39.

Before the reprints began, issue #38 featured a preview of what was to come, showing the team settling into their new California lives.

You may also enjoy DC Comics Presents #41 in which Superman teams with the Joker to battle the Prankster. At one memorable point in this Jose Garcia-Lopez (!) illustrated tale, the two take a stroll through Venice...

Garcia-Lopez could draw a Campbell's soup can and I'd read it. My regret is that he didn't too much (any?) Marvel work. Considering his style of anatomy, I would have drooled to see his Spider-Man.

Ahh, Garcia Lopez! Now THAT’S what I call faithful yet interpretive inks!
