From the UK's DAILY MIRROR:

Wow, proof at last!

Okay, that guy in 1940s Cornwall could have been rolling tobacco or cracking a nut.

As for the paintings mentioned in that article, I Googled them - and I guess the iPhone was invented centuries ago! ;-)

I’ll vote for rollin’ a fag.

Several years ago I read a book about organized crime in the first half of the 20th Century. One of the illustrations was a black and white photo of a crowd gathered around a mob hit outside a back alley garage. In the crowd, standing separately, were two figures with dark coats and hats—and no faces! Just white blanks.

Unfortunately, that was one of the books I donated to the library after a purge.

I agree with JB.  You can't see anything in his hands, let alone anything large enough to be a phone.

Probably inspecting a whelk.

As Stepehen Hawking said, 'We are all time travellers, journeying together into the future."

The now all too familiar "phone posture".
I bet if you took a picture of a beach today it would have 75% of the people with that pose.

I'm more focused on how half the people are dressed for sunbathing and the other half are in long sleeves and pants and long skirts.

You just described every trip to the seashore until my family left England in 1958.

It amuses me to see holiday photos of our grandparents,
the men wearing suits and shirts to the beach, the only
difference from a normal working day was rolling their
trouser legs up to their knees!

I`ve seen a few pictures of alleged time travellers, but
they never clearly show the futuristic device they`re
supposed to be using.

Hope he took some satellites with him. Or is he simply trying to get signal?

I tinkered with the notion of a group of accidental time travelers in the Past, discovering their cellphones don't work, and ending up using them (for as long as the batteries last) as flashlights.
