There are multiple comic adaptations of this out there (I got the single-volume Whitman one).  Kirby even did one, which was a Sunday strip that I don't think was completed. 

Edited to add: Okay, it was completed.  And it was... not his best work.

I'm probably the biggest BLACK HOLE fan that I know, but for any other fans on the board... some nice little tidbits for its 40th Anniversary this year (when any BH news has been non-existent for years!):

Yeah, the Disney Movie Club release. I'm not joining the club just to get The Black Hole, but I may know a person who still is and would get it for me...

(Other than this and 20,000 LEAGUES UNDER THE SEA, I'm not sure many more Disney movies I would bother buying on Blu-ray, so I admit, I'll need to think long & hard on that one.  But those figures will be mine!)

I wasn’t aware of the Kirby version. Odd. Not served well at all by the coloring.
