I'll probably watch this one "live." but in weeks to come I think I'll depend on Fox OnDemand.

Makes me wanna see Isaac and Lt. Yaphit both having to pose as humans as some daring duo / buddy cop team. Naturally, they'd be played by Norm MacDonald & Mark Jackson.

••

If I may...

You fall into an all-too-familiar trap here. "This would be cool! So it would be even COOLER if we doubled up on it!" Taking something unique--Isaac posing as human--and immediately diluting it with another non-human crewmember doing the same.

I'll probably be driving home from CT while it's airing, but will have to be sure to check Hulu and/or On-Demand once I get there.

I don't have cable so I'll have to wait until Hulu adds it sometime late tonight but will definitely be watching it then. Curious if the first episode will be the one they didn't show last season.

This was a fun episode. No high-concept sci-fi premise. Just a lot of nice little character moments and love connections. This one was written and directed by MacFarlane, and, as the first season established, the episodes he has the most control over tend to be the ones which are the best and most incisive.

I found myself wondering if Jason Alexander just provided the voice of the bartender, but it sounds like some of his dialogue wasn’t ADRed, which means he really was under all of that makeup.

And, the titular ceremony is basically a potty-humor version of “Amok Time”, which was the second-season opener of some other sci-fi show. No way that’s an accident or a coincidence!

Solid episode, which is not to damn with faint praise. If you think about what happened in this episode, it was basically not very much, but it was very entertaining and didn't feel like treading water. The show continues to lay down its roots and, in a seemingly effortlessly way, evolve the relationships between the characters. And it surprised me by playing Bortus' ceremony (the maguffin of the whole episode) straight and not dwelling on it. Quick and respectful... and another root grows a little deeper. This show could have real legs.

I dunno if this was the episode held over from last season, but it felt very much like a nice and low-key way of catching up with the characters, rather than focusing on some action-heavy plot.
