Kareem Hunt, star running back for the Kansas City Chiefs, has been cut by his team and declared ineligible to play in the NFL pending an investigation into abuse allegations stemming from an altercation that happened in February of this year.  This is more than just a shade of what happened with Ray Rice.  The two incidents are eerily similar.  Altercations happen where abuse is murmured but neither the NFL nor the team does anything until a video surfaces.

The Chiefs claim that Hunt was "untruthful" in his statement to them after the incident was reported.  The NFL does nothing.  None of this should be surprising as Reuben Foster, released just a week ago by the 49ers after a second domestic violence abuse claim, was picked up on waivers by the Redskins this week.

Once again not only is a single team tone deaf but the NFL, as an organization, shows it's lack of leadership on this issue.  They abdicate their authority at the drop of a hat if it means a star can draw eyes to the tube or asses in the seats.  This incident occurred over nine months ago and only now, once incriminating video has been released, does the team and league in question decide to take action.

I love me some football, but this is f**king disgusting.

And Hill is still on KC because there’s no video. Sad and disturbing.
