AbolishAnti-AnimalLanguageMaybe a bit over the top, tho I do agree that our casual abuse of animals lays the groundwork for abuse of our own kind. (Meanwhile, I’m at my favorite deli having chicken soup for lunch.)

This kind of thing does their reputation more harm than good. By all means fight for the ethical treatment of animals, but this is just ridiculous.

PETA is massively hypocritical. They operate animal shelters and they aren't 'no kill' shelters. They put down, on average, about 90% of the animals their shelters receive not because of illness or old age, but because they aren't adopted in a short enough period of time.

A few days ago, Instagram took down a video of actor/comedian Michael Rapaport for 'cat shaming' - Warning - NSFW languange in video - PETA was apparently not involved, but someone at Instagram exhibited the same level of insanity.

So they they have suggestions on other phrases to use? Well, as they say, there is more than one way to skin a cat.

Ha! Good one Brad.
...but I'm afraid you're going to have to change that to , "...to skin a carrot."

Arguably this is exactly in line with PETA’s reputation.

I'm all for better treatment of animals -- I think the higher primates are deserving of quite a few of the rights we afford ourselves -- but PETA not only kills a loads of animals on an ongoing basis, but there is plenty of evidence to suggest PETA has had ties in the past to pretty extremist groups, including groups that are classed as domestic terrorists.

Only a matter of time before people start claiming to be "transpecies" and "species-fluid".
Seriously though, what's to stop animal rights activists from editing their own genes to include dog genes. Get the law to recognise them as a new species with equal rights. Then get those laws to apply to dogs?
