Our taxi-driving thread-starter seems to have disappeared. Even his membership is gone. Anyone know why? There did not seem to be any sturm und drang in his last few posts.

In the hopes that this might help, he said something to me that a football thread being removed really bothered him, but not following either kind of football at all I couldn't affirm anything about that to him. To me there are a lot of football topics so maybe it was a case of one too many or perhaps duplication? If he reads this maybe someone can offer explanation? He put a lot into some posts and threads, don't know for sure about that football one.
I kind of look at this as: if anything I post stays up it's hopefully worth it and if something does go it's like an editor editing.

A few of us were wondering the same over on the music forum a while ago. I hope he's doing well.

I didn't even realize there was a sports section here. That's a shame if Robbie got upset and left over a football thread being removed. He was a really likable dude and I enjoyed quite a few of the threads he started.

I just figured he was banned and knew not to ask about it.

I removed two posts of Robbie’s, one for a Forum Decorum misstep (Wikipedia links, i think) and then a lengthy complaint about it being removed. I don’t know how his membership was suspended, though. I noticed he wasn’t around and assumed he was taking another break like he did a few years ago, when he announced he was spending too much time on the internet.
Robbie, if you’re out there, I really appreciate your contribution here and hope you don’t take things like this personally. The mods adhere to guidelines that make for a better forum than anything else out there.

As with "Why was my masterclass question locked?" Maybe the small courtesy of an explanation would help when you lock/delete a thread? It would prevent people being upset, and be a reminder of the rules, after all, like small print, we tend to read it once and forget it.

I have to say that I enjoyed Robbie's posts and many of my conversations with him. Hopefully, it's nothing worse than him deciding to take a break.

I always looked forward to Robbie’s Dr Who retrospectives. Was wondering why he’d suddenly stopped.
And, what Bill said.
