“Spider-Man is a powerful icon and hero whose story crosses all ages and audiences around the globe. He also happens to be the only hero with the superpower to cross cinematic universes, so as Sony continues to develop their own Spidey-verse you never know what surprises the future might hold.” - Kevin Feige

So that means Sony will use Holland's Spidey for Venom 2.

UGH.

And Western civilization has been saved.

(I am actually quite happy about the news. And just kidding about the above. Kind of.)

I'm guessing so.

I'm going to imagine it's like a Marvel / DC crossover and won't count.

I finally got around to watching this over the weekend - I really enjoyed it. It's strange that I grew up a Spider-Man guy but as the MCU has rolled out, he's probably the character I've been the least interested in. To me, though, this felt like a good little Spider-Man story. I get the 'too much SHIELD' comments but it didn't bother me too much and it was still treated somewhat lightly.

I really like Tom Holland as the frustrated teen trying to balance great power and responsibility with getting the girl and I like the supporting cast too. The kids are fun. I liked Favreau being around too.

Mysterio was a fun villain too - a good way of modernizing him without abandoning the idea of the character. And the costume was pretty great too.

All in all, a great bridge between the world-ending drama of 'Endgame' to whatever comes next by letting Spider-Man have some fun (and sort of save the world too.)
