I love the way Sue's facial features stand out with the
much lighter lines of her hair and the background.
Really showcases the "new" Byrne faces. At the same
time, it's striking me as reminiscent of another artist.
I want to say maybe Chaykin? Maybe Grell? I'm not sure,
but there's something of someone there!

The line work on these is wonderful. The Torch is really dynamic.

#61 landed in Canada. Sorry for the odd angle of the photo.

Hi All,

Does anyone know if there was one with a Galactus head sketch?

Best!

---

A friend at IDW told me all the drawings were of an FF member or Dr. Doom.

JB still "owns" the Thing. Nobody does it better.

I don't know why this thought popped into my head, but...all those years of smoking cigars could've had a really bad effect on Ben's lungs, which, I assume, are still as they were pre-cosmic rays even if his skin is now "rock."

WHAT IF...the Thing got lung cancer?! (Not a story many people would want to read, I suppose, but really, how do you do surgery on someone with invulnerable skin?)

Why on earth would you make that assumption?!?

OT: Adam S. - of all the smokers in the MU, it seems that none of them have ever even had a bad cough. Because it wouldn't be interesting, and because it's not something calculated to keep readers; more likely, it would keep some away.

Maybe a third factor is the question of how many creators smoked themselves, and really didn't want to face that reality.
