Yet we got no more of it... 😢

••

Even in today's diminished marketplace, the orders on COLD WAR were pathetic. Did that accurately reflect the number of people who might have bought it, if they had access? No way to know. Either way, no point jousting at windmills.

James, i remember asking J.B. the same question upon
first reading Cold War, it was nice to spot a nod to a
local location!

I have to admit to being one of the ones who didn’t buy the series when it first came out. I was cutting down on comics & this was a casualty.
I’ve bought it digitally now so hopefully you still get something from that JB.

I guess me buying it last week, didn't help than.
And that's too bad, because I really like that book and was hoping for a second chapter.

I totally missed it, when it came out and only found out about it, when I went through Jim Warden's website of original artwork.

In my travels, in the real world and in cyberspace, I’ve been surprised to learn how many fans don’t understand that aftermarket sales don’t count—and don’t pay royalties.

Altho trades are considered “evergreens” that theoretically stay on the market forever, it takes a long time for a low end product like this the generate royalties. Unlike, say, the umpety-umpth reprinting of “Dark Phoenix”.

JB, I know you've said that you don't typically write with movies or TV in mind, but I've thought that Cold War could be excellent on screen. If you had other ideas for the series, could those work their way into another medium if the original story sold?

Based on your comment JB - when does a digital product cease to pay royalties ?
It never becomes a second hand product, so when does it become aftermarket? The rest I am fully aware of, but digital can be a bit confusing - not a reprint, not secondhand, just not bought the week of release.

I bought the individual issues as they were released, and purchased the collection as well. An oversized hardcover would have been sweet!
