Article about the incident:

Here's a video of the incident...

I'm only vaguely familiar with Arlen Schumer, but this doesn't put him in the best light. Whew.

I saw that too.  I understand he was cussing at a minor.  I also saw Scott Shaw talking about how Mr. Schumer went at Shaw's son, riding him about his father's amputation.  It would seem Schumer is what we call a "piece of work" doesn't it?

I only learned of the guy today, and his 20-odd comments on a couple news articles I've read aren't exactly putting him the best light, either. Apparently nobody likes him enough to tell him how much of an asshole he's coming across as. His aggressively eccentric word capitalization is by itself enough to disqualify him from serious consideration as an adult, let along as a lecturer and intellectual.

The moment you have to tell someone how much respect you deserve, you deserve NONE.

Well I had never heard of Arlan Schumer before today and from reading the attached article I hope I don't hear much more about him.  Guy needs some help I think.

I’ve never heard of the San Diego Comic Fest before, so I went to the website, which advertises their event as:

“The Friendly, Intimate Comic Con Experience”

Good grief, you should read some of Mr. Schumer's responses in the Comments section in that first link... sounds like an all-around pleasant fellow to be around!

Just to update anyone interested, Shumer issued an apology (finally).

I was at this year's San Diego Comic Fest. It is, in fact, “The Friendly, Intimate Comic Con Experience” they claim it to be. Great Con to visit. I had a wonderful time there. But no matter the venue, sometimes there's this one guy who goes off the rails.......
