JB is this one of the stolen sketchbooks of yours?  I've never seen this, and never seen it offered for sale, until today on Facebook.  I do, however, vaguely remember you talking about some of your sketchbooks being stolen.

Is that the back of the comic published by Solson in the 1980s that  appeared to be an instruction on comic art by JB, though he actually had nothing to do with the publication other than it using his art?

No idea Matt - I saw it on FB and wondered what the story was.

So the 500 signed and numbered copies is a falsehood?

One thing is for sure, I have not found a hint of this book on the inter-web.

Dave, thanks! I thought I recalled that ad.

Brennan, here is the comic book on which that ad appeared:

Note to those unfamiliar: The cover and some of the interior art is JB's work, but this "How To" was written deceptively to make it appear as if it was JB writing the comic, which he did not.

Yes, had to make them take my name out of the logo — hence the big empty space.

I have copy (at least that's what my records/catalog shows) ...haven't looked at it in decades and don't remember much about it.

Note...I have the how to draw book not the sketchbook.

I've seen it.  I might even have scans of it someplace.  Seem to recall that other Marvel guys were involved; maybe Romita Sr.?  Not sure that means they were involved voluntarily or like John had their work used against their will, but other artists' work besides John's also appeared.

Rick, like Bert, do you mean you've seen the comic with the ad, or did you see the sketch book mentioned in the ad? John Romita, Sr.'s art does appear in the comic.
