Another brilliant episode this week. "Superb Owl" party!

(Confession: the one thing I don't like about this show, which I have mentioned before, is the BEVERLY HILLBILLIES Effect. The Clampetts lived in Beverly Hills for years without picking up on any of the normal social conventions. These vampires are hundreds of years old, yet they are oblivious to modern concepts and conditions.)

I was wondering if Lazlo saying "forget everything" would be taken literally - I was pleased to see that I was right.

Setting the show on Staten Island ("the forgotten borough") was a brilliant idea. Even though it's shot in Toronto, they did find a suburban area that resembles SI very well (it also helps that the show is mostly filmed at night).

Finished the last episodes of season 1 last night, we're watching thanks to all the positive comments here. I enjoyed it quite a bit more than my wife.

Ha! After the weeks of lock down, that depends on either of our moods in the moment.

Funny episode, tho they went full court press on the Beverly Hillbillies syndrome.

As an IT guy, I did get a kick out of "mailer daemon".

I was feeling a bit bored at first, but the second half won me over, with Guillermo living up to his namesake, and the camera crew running for their lives!

Thought today it would be fun to see an actual Van Helsing show up—with his/her own camera crew!

That I can explain! In IT systems terms, a 'daemon' (pronounced "demon", but the word is taken from Greek mythology) is a background process that typically runs a server, in this case a mail server. System-generated emails (as in the episode's case of an auto-reply for the invalid email address bloodyfuckingmary@aol.com) tend to come back in the name of the "mailer-daemon" account that the mail server runs as.

Thanks, Vinny, but that I knew. I wondered if there was any clue as to WHY the word “daemon” was used, antique spelling and all.
