Here's what is in my file at the LCS this week (along with last week's stash that I haven't picked up yet due to being out of town)

  • HEROES IN CRISIS #8 (OF 9) - Maybe I'm just getting cynical in my old age, but I don't really see the point to this series.  However, I'm so deep into it that I'll finish it off.
  • TERRIFICS #15 - For a series that I've enjoyed, I'm so frickin' far behind.  Looks like this will be a binge read this weekend.
  • AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #20 - The one series that I'm relatively up to date with (haven.  Even though I don't like the artwork that much, the story really intrigues me.

What are you getting?

DARK RED #2 - The first issue was interesting, let's see where it goes.

DICK TRACY: FOREVER #1 - I know Michael Oeming has wanted to do a Dick Tracy story forever - let's hope it's a good one!

PUNK MAMBO #1 - I've tried to enjoy a few series during the Valiant relaunch, with not a lot of success. Hopefully that changes here (if not, well, there's a Dan Brereton cover to enjoy.)

THE REALM #13 - This book's been solid since the start.

Action Comics #1010- The Leviathan storyline has some potential.

Batgirl #34- Paul Pelletier artwork makes this book topnotch for me.

Detective Comics #1002- Totally on board with this creative team.

Amazing Spider-Man #20- Continuing a good storyline that has me waiting for whatever twist Kraven has prepared.

Avengers #18- War of the Realms tie-in.

Avengers Edge of Infinity- I always enjoy these books that come out to coincide with the movies. Usually a classic writer with Andrea DiVito, Ron Lim, or Todd Nauck on art.

Doctor Strange #13- I like what Waid has done with this book.

Fantastic Four #9- Still trying to get the feel for this one.

AMBER BLAKE #2 - getting for the Guice art; hopefully the story's good, too

CRIMINAL #4 - the Brubaker/Phillips team continues to be reliable

WICKED & DIVINE #43 - only two to go... solid run to the finale so far

AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #20 - still need to get caught up

AVENGERS #18 - I'll give credit to Aaron for coming across like he has long term plans for the book. I just wish I found his notions more interesting than I do. (Have zero interest in the BC Avengers, for one.) He joins the ranks of Avengers writers (Bendis and, in a way, Hickman) that seem to me like they'd much rather be doing a Defenders revival (as long as they still get to use one or more of the Big Three).

FANTASTIC FOUR #9 - I want to like this book, and I don't think my expectations are particularly high, but there's just something... missing in the issues so far. (Although I've had that problem with a lot of the people Brevoort's hired for the book.)

Same here. And you just know we're going to continue to have those issues where he has to feature them. This was my problem with his original Thor run.

The artists haven't particularly worked for me. No one can draw the Thing! Marvel has really pushed the family aspect of the book for years now but I don't need Alicia, Aunt Petunia, and the kids in every issue. Slott has said that he really feels that Franklin and Valeria are unofficial members. Not to me.
