Yeah, I was gonna say. From the first time I saw that name, I have pronounced it with equal emphasis on the two syllables and the first syllable with the same 'a' sound as bat or cat.

I have enjoyed Ron Frenz's work on a variety of titles, including AMERICAN DREAM, A-NEXT, THE BUZZ, DARKDEVIL, SPIDER-GIRL, SPIDER-MAN and THUNDERSTRIKE. Sometimes it seems as though he and Tom DeFalco are joined at the hip!

I know a number of people that mispronounce the name "Ka-Zar." And the reason I know it's being mispronounced is that there was a pronunciation key in his very first appearance in (Uncanny) "X-Men" #10.

I have always pronounced Ka-zar as KAY-zar but don't always trust my comics pronunciations because I used to say Mag-NET-o instead of Mag-Neat-O.

Wow. I have been pronouncing it wrong all along. And I realise there's a very good chance I have been mispronouncing Zabu in my head as well.

I love most all of Frenz's work, but who else could have taken over THOR after Simonson left and done such an incredible job?  His run there was just outstanding.

The one actual comic page I own is pencilled by Ron Frenz. So I'll definitely be checking that interview out when I have more time.

Fun interview!
I get flashes of John Goodman when watching him.

...and yes, I'm in the group of Ka-Zar mispronouncers.

I’m a little past halfway. This is one of the best interviews ever. He seems like he would be super cool to hang with.

He seems to prefer his Thor work, but he’ll always be “Ron Frenz, AMAZING SPIDER-MAN artist” to me. He started on it right as I was hitting my stride as a collector and his run with DeFalco is definitive to me. He speaks of doing a Kirby pastiche on THOR, but I really would prefer his regular style. Especially when Sinnott started on inks.

Also, very interesting that he and DeFalco got checks for Hope VanDyne being in the movies. Hopefully, Marvel treated JB the same way with Scott Lang and Rhodey.

Yep. That's how the pronunciation key has it in "X-Men" #10, which I linked to in my above post.
