Loved the first season.... rewatching it again just to see what I might've missed the first time.

(Hey, this thread finally works again for me!)

So this is my long overdue chance to say:  I really enjoyed THE MANDALORIAN.  Lots of fun, if overlong in spots.

My son and I are looking forward to Season 2!

I saw an announcement that new episodes will arrive
October 30th.

Seriously, I wonder how they were able to film with
Covid. Maybe because most of the actors have their face
covered?

They had most of it, if not all of it, already shot. They’ve just been doing
mainly post-production work since spring.

*****

I read this a few weeks back in reference to S3

“The fact that the set is much more contained is a benefit, because you can
limit the number of people. A lot of the people controlling it are doing it
remotely from what we call the Brain Bar, which is a bank of gaming
computers, essentially. The amount of people near the camera could be much
smaller than [usual]. We also shoot a lot outside, which is helpful, too. We build
to a moment in filming more like an animated production, where we have a lot
of storyboards, a lot of discussions and scouting in virtual reality. We use
cinematic tools in VR much the same way we did for The Lion King and The
Jungle Book. A lot of times the actors you are seeing on the screen aren’t
actually there on set.”

There is a rumor that Disney made all their cast and crew live in an isolated, COVID free set for the duration of the production, and that the Mandalorian's third season has been filmed along with this second season.

Source please Joe - I’ve only seen the bits about most of season 2
being through principle photography prior to lockdowns.
