Normally I'm not a fan of cosplay, but poking around I found this, and I have to say it's not bad at all!

We often hear that film-makers have to use complicated fabric patterns and rubber suits to increase the level of visual interest the costumes have on film. I cannot imagine a greater level of visual interest than that generated by the image shown above...

Give me a faithful interpretation of what's on the page. Odds are pretty good it'll be better than whatever some comics-ignorant designer cooks up for Hollywood.

I agree, there`s a fan made Wolverine Vs Predator short
on Youtube, with limited resources they made a credible
costume for Wolverine.

This literalization underlines a part of the Phoenix costume that I really think
had a notable role in Phoenix's characterization - that sash.

That sash has a lot of attitude. It's one of those fashion accessories that would
get comments at the Academy Awards pre-show for being particularly sassy.

In context, Phoenix created her own costume. She is practically omnipotent,
and the costume seems designed to announce that. To me, that sash speaks
volumes about Phoenix's self-confidence in her own power and it transitioned
as a perfect fit for Dark Phoenix too.

Steve G., that was really nice. But let's recall that, even notwithstanding colors, Phoenix and Dark Phoenix have different costumes. I just mention it because when Phoenix' outfit is drawn wrong, it makes me CRAAAZY! And not in the good way.

But I wouldn't have expected you to redesign it with a color change. And it's cool. Now, if only you could have removed the purse too... :D :D :D
