Trump tweeted, "I had nothing to do with Russia helping me to get elected."
It's about time he admitted that Russia's interference helped him.

China gleefully uses Trump as justification for their own political system. They point out that their leaders have been trained for decades on how to run things but America proves that democracy is flawed in that any idiot can run and be elected.

China has some nerve criticising the authority of the Electoral College of the People’s Republic of the United States in picking the right President.

Trump would not have been president without Russian misinformation via the social media sites, the National Enquirer plastering doctored photos of an ill Hilary on view at all supermarket check-out lines (and whatever was happening with at least two counties in Florida but possibly in other Republican controlled states like making polling places in certain areas that vote Democrat extremely inconvenient for people with limited transportation, continual changes to ID requirements, and outright fraudulent phone calls giving people false polling places location changes). For someone who won with minus 3 million votes the margin must've been razor thin. It's too bad a third of this Republican party can't be impeached with him. Things were sliding before Trump decided to take advantage... there should be a major effort to clean up and toughen oversight and the penalties for messing with elections along with getting huge money 'donors' out.

The ONLY way U.S. politics will turn around is with a President COMMITTED to ripped down the old structures and building something new with a focus on the average citizen, not the money of corporations and billionaires. Sadly BOTH parties are deeply beholden to the American oligarchy. It’s just that the Republicans FLAUNT it while the Democrats hide it behind their backs like crossed fingers.
I’m afraid Joe Biden will win...and things will ease right back to when Clinton or W was President. Yeah, compared to Trump that sounds welcome...but the reality is we will not see advances in gun control, healthcare, women’s reproductive rights and election reform. Money will remain the pollutant of politics. Because as a centrist, Joe Biden simply can’t champion these causes. Because he wants/needs everybody to at the very least LIKE him. Because that’s why he will be elected. Not on the strength of bold vision and daring change for the commonwealth.
He’s gonna win because America LIKES him better than Trump.
To be sure, Hillary was liked only SLIGHTLY better than Trump. Which meant a LOT of people disliked her. Joe doesn’t have that problem (at the moment). He can glad hand and “aw shucks” with middle America and mean it. It’s probably genuine. But when it comes time to take the reins...he's gonna spin around like a top...trying to appease all side.
A centrist is best at spinning in place. When you think about it you’ll realize it....it’s in their nature.
And with that being said....if Joe gets the nod...he gets my vote. Same as I did for Hillary in 2016. But I’m committed to spending a great deal of time as an reasonably informed citizen making sure President Biden takes a step or two FORWARD while he soaks up his popularity.

But, as we see in the absence of any guiding hand upon the wheel, it is NOT in the nature of government to spin in place.
If Biden were to become president and, as you suggest, "things will ease right back to when Clinton or W was President" - that would be an accomplishment on par with pulling a burning building out of a volcano.
I don't think it will go quite so easily. I think our next President has an enormous task of reconstruction on the to-do list. It is not often that such times go well for troubled nations, but it is an opportunity.

You guys are assuming that, if Trump does lose the election, he will willingly step down. That will not be the case. He will cry “fake results” and “election tampering” and then call on his “people” to go to arms for him to keep him in office. Thinks about it. He was saying those things after an election he WON. It’s gonna happen.

The sight of Secret Service agents forcibly dragging him out of the White House will be wonderful.
At this point, I am not sure if I want Trump impeached. Because I wouldn't want the chance of Pence pardoning him if he's indicted for anything. (That happens, Pence should be tossed out, too.)

You may've sold me there Brian Floyd! I now don't think I want impeachment either... better to skip the Pence pardon and have people criminally prosecuted eventually... except didn't Dick Cheney claim executive immunity after leaving office (and moving Haliburton headquarters to the middle east) successfully? Slip slide and away? :^(
