So after a near disaster involving water in my basement, I decided itís
time to do a massive purge of my collection. Once I inventoried
everything, I have about 30 long boxes of comics from the mid-1980s
until around 2010, mostly Marvel and DC with some indie stuff as well.
Most are bagged and boarded and in pretty good shape.

Iím not under any illusion that these will finance my retirement or my
sonís college education, but does anyone have any suggestions on
where to begin to try and sell these books? I approached a local
friendly comic book shop but heís full up on the issues I have. He
suggested taking them to a show and setting up a booth, but again, I
have no idea where to start. Any help would be appreciated, as would
any recommendations of shops in the upper Midwest (say between
Minneapolis and Chicago) who buy large collections. Thanks!

You can email me if you want, Chris.

Brian, give me you want list in my hunter thread. The whole run (except #1) of Rom for $1 each would be no problem.

I'll email you privately, Dave. Where in Ohio? I could be up for a road trip as
well.

And sorry, Brian. I only had one issue of ROM and that was an annual. I do have
an almost complete run of Micronauts, but was unsure I wanted to get rid of
those.

Just a shout out and big thanks to you, Dave, for being so flexible and
accommodating in helping me part with this collection. Going through the
whole thing while organizing it brought back a ton of memories, but also
helped me discover the point where (as JB says) I outgrew comics. Not that I
don't like the art form anymore, but there were so many books there that I had
NEVER READ because the stories we no longer of interest to me and I was just
trying to keep runs intact. The ones I kept were books that either held a
sentimental value or ones where the creators (and I) cared about the
characters and the stories they were telling. And so while my collection is now
much smaller (only 4-5 boxes), it means a lot more to me.

Thanks again, Dave!
