I really enjoyed Andrea DiVito's art on the Thing comic with Dan Slott a decade or so back. Here's one way that he's drawn today.

Since the 2005 movie, there have been too many attempts at doing a "realistic" Thing. Kind of like the "practical" versions of Captain America's costume that we've gotten since the first Chris Evans Cap movie. Comic book artists basically have an unlimited special effects budget and don't have to be constrained by reality, and it never feels right when they try to downscale things so that we can get a real-world version of some fantastic, only-in-comics character.

Too many artists seem to want him to be the Hulk. Proportions (and size) all wrong.

If you are going to be unique and radical at least do it in a fun appealing way like Michael Allred’s version.

I enjoyed the three issues Alan Davis spent drawing the FF.

Wallace, if you liked those, ypu should get, "Fantastic Four: The End". Six issues of Alan Davis doing the FF, and much of the Marvel Universe as well. Absolutely GORGEOUS!

Didn't care for  Pichelli's take. The Thing looked like comedian Billy Gardell covered in rocks!
