ITEM: I see next to no blacks (edited by ELS) in that picture. The shadows and shading are very hard to see.

ITEM: THE KINGPIN WAS NOT FAT. His mass was all muscle... enough so that he could put up a fight against Spider-Man. So losing weight means he got weaker. So... why change the character so entirely? To accord with a show no longer on Netflix?.

ITEM: I might need to see more to make a fair judgment, but I wouldn't enjoy looking at more of this art from what I see here.

It’s explained right there on the page. He’s empowered by Dark Elves. And since elves are small and skinny, he shrank when he received their power.

In Chip Zdarksy's current Daredevil series, I "hear" Vincent D'Onofrio's voice
when the Kingpin is talking. It's a fascinating phenomenon... both cool and
unnerving.

It's because the character's are facing the reader :)

The line weight reminds me of Geoff Darrow or Moebius.

As for the Kingpin being all muscle and no fat: can't say I agree. Plenty of muscle, but certainly underneath fat. Like a sumo. If you have a big belly, it's fat not muscle that makes that shape.

Mediocre comment if you can't tell us why the art is mediocre.
As JB said you can't tell by one panel.
I don't think the "big" two hire mediocre artists .

Andrea Sorrentino might be a bit stylized, what ever that definition means these days, but is far from a mediocre artist.

Not really a fan of the aesthetic. I may well be wrong, but it looks very heavily photo-referenced and it actually conjures to mind the fumetti strips of my youth in the 80s revival of Eagle. I'm specifically referring to the image in the alleway with the three folks (Hawkeye, Old Man Wolverine and Old Man Cap? I'm out of touch). Those panels look mundane, lacking in grandeur. Every angle is like it was taken by someone with a camera at eye level of normal folks talking in a drab alley. Now, there can be all sorts of artistic reasons for making that choice, but I suspect (though, of course, I don't know) part of the reason is that's the way photo reference leans. Superheroes don't exists in real like.

How to Draw Comics the Marvel Way specifically told us not to make Marvel comics this way. Now, rules can be bent, but looking at that page does make me long for the drama, the energy of big John Buscema and the other giants that spoke in that same visual language.

I will say as someone who collects original comic art I was hard-pressed to find any original art pages to any issues he has worked on.

Exceeded the limit. Apologize.it does appear that he is mostly digital hence the issue finding original art.
