I looked in the "search" and found only something similar in the Star Trek page. So what is a favorite alien from any book, not movie or comic, but novel or short story?
I would have to pick Mother, from the Philip Jose Farmer short story of the same name. I liked that She, is not what you think she is.

Nessus, from Ringworld. Probably followed by Quark (DS9).

Surprising to myself, when I think about it, I haven't read a whole lot of novels with aliens in them.
A stand out would be "The Thing" from WHO GOES THERE?

Yaxul, of the Martio-Terrestrial League. He's a petal-limbed, bladder-torsoed Martian from Manly Wade Wellman's 30th Century pulp stories. He shows up in at least three of the stories I think.

I know I'm overlooking someone or something, but for now, I'll say that I really liked K't'lk, the crystaline spider, from Diane Duane's Star Trek novel, THE WOUNDED SKY.

LITTLE FUZZY•• The only sci-fi novel I was ever able to persuade my mother to read -- and she loved it!
