@ Bob Simko: couldn't agree more.  That said?  Who would put those term limits in place?  Has to come from those individuals for whom a virtual lifetime appointment has become the norm.  Would love to see it happen because it should, but don't see Congress (either side of the aisle) doing anything to change it.

I'm in favor of term limits, but I also want experienced people running the government. A dichotomy!

While Jon Stewart went to Congress to talk directly to them, Mitch McConnell appeared on Faux News just so he can answer in a smug way without any opposition. McConnell said that Stewart was "all bent out of shape" and "looking for some way to take offense" about the Senate once again delaying funds for 9/11 survivors and first responders.

He is a coward to the BONE.

Great rebuttal.... especially at the end.

I'm curious to see if McConnell does the right thing or not. The spotlight is on him and I am anxious to see if he can be shamed into passing the legislature without altering it.

Today Sen. Rand Paul blocked a Senate vote on 9/11 victim compensation fund:

LINK

Jon Stewart slammed Paul for blocking unanimous consent for a bill to support health care for 9/11 first responders.

“Pardon me if I’m not impressed in any way by Rand Paul’s fiscal responsibility virtue signaling,” said Stewart to anchor Bret Baier...

... Stewart added that Paul’s complaint (that the bill was unfunded) rings hollow given that Paul “added hundreds of billions of dollars to our deficit” with the GOP tax cuts for billionaires.

Jon Stewart needs to run for some type of office.

Do you really want to see him sucked into that swamp? So many have entered the public arena only to find themselves on a VERY slippery slope. "If I make just this one little compromise this time..."

And let us not remember what happened to Sen. Franken...

Sen. Franken should've fought back harder to keep his seat. Still, I think he didn't because the Dems didn't want any issues headed into the mid-terms.

Maybe Stewart would compromise a bit... but I think he'd also be fiercely passionate about the things he believed in. I think Stewart having such a strong personality would be helpful as the public would know what to expect from him politically.

He's probably in a more useful function holding those in office to account.
