The top three were no-brainers for me--
1. BATMAN - Legendary
2. SPIDER-MAN - Classic
3. THE FLASH - When I was a kid reading the Bates/Novick run, the Rogues WERE the book's supporting cast...and I was fine with that!
The next two were a little harder. Captain America and the Fantastic Four have some of the best villains ever, but, aside from the Red Skull and Dr. Doom, I could sort of live without most of the others coming back too often, which seems an inherent quality of a "Rogues Gallery"--almost like a supporting cast (see the three above). So, after much thought, I settled on--
4. THE X-MEN - Yeah, I want to see the Blob, Magneto, etc. and even a bunch of the newer ones show up regularly. (But maybe not so much Phoenix!) Aside from the word "Evil" in the Brotherhood's name, I think the line between "good" mutants and "bad" mutants in the X-Men's world often blurs, so I want to keep up with the "bad guys" almost as much as the "good guys."
5. SUPERMAN - But, specifically, the Swan era Superman! Besides the big ones (Luthor, Brainiac, Mr. Mxyzptlk, Bizarro, maybe Metallo), I liked the ones we don't see anymore (at least not in any recognizable form)--Parasite, Amalak, Terra Man, Blackrock (it was a mystery!), and Vartox (he was a friend--but he always brought trouble!). That's actually not a lot to work with (made all the more obvious whenever they make a movie--"Oh gee, it's Luthor again!"), but it squeaks by into "Gallery" numbers.
