Sure why not break the mythos even more
Even if it's Frank Miller doing it.

Wonder how much the US Army paid for that privilege?

Glad it won't be in normal continuity.

I loved Red Son because it was one simple change that would have a massive repercussion for the character. Having Clark go into the military prior to or even after his powers manifest rubs me the wrong way only because I know just how powerful he will become. It seems too much like a change for the sake of change instead of an interesting twist. Red Son was a commentary on how much the environment influenced the character. This seems like exploiting what the character will become instead of shedding light on some aspect of the character. Perhaps he will finish his military service and be a presidential bodyguard to really show us how awesome he can be? I will definitely be enjoying the art.

Everyone wants to do their take on Superman's origins, it seems. It got boring a LONG time ago.

I blame JB, of course, as MAN OF STEEL was so successful.

No but seriously, DC, move on!

Eh, it's set in an alternative reality,  so it doesn't actually change the established lore.

Matt, this is the company that made every "Elseworld" story canon by assigning them to various parts of the multiverse. So it doesn't matter that it's alternate - it's yet another in an endless take of Superman origin stories.

I haven't been the biggest fan of Frank's work since DKR2, but this might have to be a must buy simply for the art. I love JRJR drawing DC characters.
